Rollin Kocsis was raised in South Bend, Indiana. He graduated from Indiana University with honors and a degree in art education. After graduation from college, he moved to Memphis and began to teach visual arts for the Memphis City Schools. For over 37 years, he taught junior high and high school general and advanced art, photography, printmaking, pottery, fibers, and yearbook production. Rollin attended Memphis State Univeristy (now the University of Memphis) and earned two advanced degrees: a Master of Arts in Teaching Art Education (1976) and a Master of Fine Arts in Painting (1991). Gorgeous mountains! What you do with the sky with just lines is very interesting, but I don't think it works with these mountains - a contrast of directions. I would like it in many other paintings.
